230 Tank Build

Oh yeah, a little late, but nice boxer!..I love those dogs

Thanks - since I scanned back through the thread to see where she (Daisy) was located in a picture I quickly realized it was mostly a view of her back side. :lipssealedsmilie:

Therfore, I decided to add a nicer view.

Cheers, Keith

Ha!..yeah, thats a much better pic..
nice built dog...very stocky..especially for a female
my cousin has one real thick like that...it cant even wear a collar...his neck is so much bigger than its head it just falls off when he leans down...

Skimmer Advise

Good Evening,

I have done so much in the DIY fashion for this tank build, I am going to suck it up and simply purchase a presumably decent skimmer rather than try to make one.

I am admittedly a bit burned-out on the project, in part because since the weather improved this spring I have had little to no time to finish my project.:wall:

Would a few people mind providing their opinion with regard to which skimmer, rated for a 230 gal (Reef) tank, delivers the best foam, or proverbial bang, for the buck?:help:

Thanks, Keith

P.S. here is the one I am likley to purchase, Bermuda Aquatics BPS-3C, unless any of you can advise me differently.

heh, i know the feeling.. i built everything myself, and still decided to go with a pre made skimmer....
i researched everything i found, and i chose the AquaC EV 400.. for my 225...
since then, ive seen alot of people recomend octopus skimmers, but i know nothing about them...
dont worry about getting burned out...a project this big, and expensive, its expected...
cant wait to see your progress!...

how cool r u?

amazing prodject! if you could find the time to help i am thinking of a smaller prodject of my own, just a 150gl tank! when siliconing the glass together do i need to clamp and support it and will it hold with just the silicone? really appreciate yr imput, many thanks!

Best to check with 7faces. I did not construct my tank. I did DIY most everything else though so let me know fi you need help in those areas.

I don't know how much that skimmer runs for, but I've heard a lot of good things about the ETSS skimmers. The public aquarium near me uses several of them. They are very nice pieces of equipment, but not cheap.
