29 Gallon Journal

what do u mean, left it? were u gone? or what? or did u just not feed?

ur fish are totally okay, I leave my fish for max 10 days without food, they are totally okay with that, u don't seem to have any fish which would eat plants, so ur good;)

yea i left for the weeken. my granpa left the lights on the whole weekend and my rotala, e trenelious or whatever, and my vals all look brown. and i can find a harlequin rasbora.

plants lower nitrates... they don't stop spikes in ammonia ;) i'd still add another one just to be safe. maybe thats what you can do with the profit you get from the killis.
Plants use ammonia also.

Best of luck breeding killies, sounds like a fun endeavor.

no they leaves themselves are turning brown. i have no idea why. i just got a much better light. im hoping they'll come back bc i spent like 60 dollars on all my plants.

will they come back?could it be bc of the light being on for 3 days straight? i think the harlequin's dead somewhere. ill have to look for it and test tomorrow to see if it's dead. i hope it's hiding :( everyone else is accounted for though. atleast my aponogeton, anachris, and anubius look good.

it's time to get those lights on a timer ;) lol. the same thing happened to me when i was on vacation. my sister forgot to turn off the lights, and when i came back everything was brown. i put in some ottos and they did the trick, :)

+1 on being burnt, just cuz u have a better light doesn't mean the plants won't die, too much light is bad for them as far as I know, especially for vals.
