dafishydude - the light i bought at about 115 shipped, i'm not complietly satisfied with them because of the heat that CFs produce so i'm replacing them with two of these. I've heard good thing about there MH's so one can only hope that there T5's are just as good. usually lighting actually cost more than what i payed but i went the slightly cheap route (ebay) there are also some amazing DIY light i've seen too so there are lot of options for lighting.

also the 4 gallon is doing amazing. got some new lighting i rigged up with two 14 watt 5500K spiral fluorescents in the hood i had and the tank looks so much better.

write so some updates on the tanks. was tired of the old hard scape in the 30 gallon and felt it took up to much room. so went to my LFS and look through all there wood and found two good peaces. i like this alot better and i now need to find some more plants lol. ether way much more satisfied also have around 5 corries in the tank now not sure what thay are but thay are varry active.

the 4 gallon has stayed the same for a while now but i have been getting really good plant growth in there and the betta is loving it and he actually does not mind the current the the AC20 makes (lowest setting). this tank i'm completely satisfied with and am not going to change anything on it.

i also set up recently a 10 gallon reef tank to be. still cycling but should be fine to try my hand at reef keeping since i've mostly had planted tanks. the funny thing is i can see this tank being easier to maintain then the 30 gallon.

so tank as of now. thoughts and suggestions welcomed.

the lights are decent but better then what i had and much cheaper. thay also stay much cooler and if the balast does go i'm fin with replacing them.

also here are some new tank shot. i fanlly figed out how to mess with the exposer on this camra so i think thay look much better. it's sad though because i will have to tare this down in a month to take back to school with me. at the same time this alows me to really mess with the scape much more. and i will be replacing the curent substrate mix with flourite black sand at that time.
