35G Hex Planted : Journal

Went to Coral Fish (LFS Hawaii) today and got some fish to get my 35gallon started. I got 6 threestripe corydoras (Corydoras trilineatus), 2 albino corydoras (Corydoras paleatus), and 2 gold dojo loaches (Misgurnus anguillicaudatus). I also picked up 2 bunches of anacharis. What do you all think?

So, you are stalking me, huh? :hearts:

I guess no one else is subscribed.

If you don't have liquid tests, you could always bring in a small sample of your tank water into the LFS and they should test it for you for little or no money. Good luck with your stock seems you kinda jumped the gun on putting fish back in. I'd at least wait a few weeks to get your bacteria back up. Did you cycle?

Using filter from established 14gallon that was caked with matter as well as a new filter. I ran the tank for one full day with no fish in it. I know this is frowned upon but I prefer quick cycle with hardy fish.

I was thinking about putting a small airstone inside the skull so that little bubbles will rise out of his eye socket. I would turn the air down to a relatively low level to not produce too much water movement. Would it harm the plants or fish?
It's been nice to see that the dojo loaches are indeed warming up to each other. When I was doing research on them I found out they prefer to atleast be in groups of three because when they rest they like to rub their barbs (i think thats what they were called) against each others. I'll try and capture some pictures of them snuggling.
Here is a video of my new corys being VERY ACTIVE. Either they are becoming used to their new home or they are trying to find a way out, you tell me.

More pics

Can't resist taking pictures of these cories when they STOP MOVING. The albinos seem to enjoy hanging out in this shell. Is it too cold for them or is that normal behavior? It's cute nonetheless.

How does adding 12 neon tetra to this tank sound? That's what I want to do to finish it off. Also want to add 2 more bunches of anacharis and a bunch of java moss. Sound nice?

lookin good!
my little albino likes to dig the sand out from the sides of my skull and i have to keep re-burying it...
mine will also duck under one of the big rocks periodically so i think he is just grabbing a quick nap, might be what your little guy is doing in that shell...
my experience with anacharis is that you can trim and replant the clippings and you will have tons of the plants in no time...so that will help if you want a densely planted section...
