35G Hex Planted : Journal

Wait so whats the stocking list of the tank at the moment? That'll help us decide if adding neons would be a good idea or not.

Love the cories!! It's pretty hard for the water to be too cold for corys, they can live in cold or warm water as long as you acclimatize them :)

35g hex w/
6 three stripe cories
2 albino cories
2 gold dojo loach
1 regular dojo loach (larger)
I plan on separating the larger size loach to the 40g long if he will get along with the convict cichlids i plan on putting in there

So would 12 neon tetras mix in well? I want some small fish that will swim near the top since its a very tall tank and the top remains empty

It should work, but I don't know how neons will get on with the dojos, but the corys + neons would be fine. Personally, I think neons are too common, so I avoid them and get other types of tetra, maybe a barb type too. You should get a school of cherry barbs seeing as you only have lightish colours in the tank.

I'll get the neon tetras tomorrow. I don't want to add too many fish at once so that the tank can get used to the new bio-load. I've noticed that my betta bulbs are growing at an alarming rate. They are noticeably larger EVERY day.

I was thinking about how the 35g is rather tall and the only thing that I have that will be reaching the top is the anacharis. If you observe my tank pictures you will notice I have two different roman scenery pieces. If I put them side by side and stack some rocks or something interesting on top of them, I can heighten my scenery. Any ideas?

Maybe a PVC DiY tower cave that looks sort of like those cat castles made of plywood and carpet but out of pvc and concrete. I have a feeling that no matter how I do it, it will probably still be obvious that its constructed out of PVC. Who knows. I'm in no rush but I am going to home depot soon to have them cut me some plexi for my 1.5g
