4300 Gallon Plywood Build (3600+ Take 2)

Insane crazy tank! Keep it going and keep it up! Fyi I had a weird picture in my head of your room mate coming home with a few girlfriends and you are swimming around with your fish lmfao! Also with a tank like that should make a great long conversation with women lol.

You should so get a sign made saying this is not a spa sorry! And hang it for you room mate to remind her she sounds like a blond no offense lol.

Just a good question, Are you gonna be putting plants into the tank. If so what kind. And what are you gonna be doing for decor? Be neat to see a pool table sunk in it or even some of the older coke and pepsi glass bottles sunk on the bottom.

You probably should of bought a huge stump and cleaned it and used it as a center piece or something of that nature. Cut it down into sections and assemble it back together with it in the tank. Just some ideas :p

wtf :screwy:

Anyway.....the log casts sound like a great idea. Any word yet on that truck getting to you?

I also like the cast log Idea

Ken just stopped by to talk about some of the tank work we need to do. His back is giving him trouble, so we're going to shoot for a work day on Monday since I'm off.

He's going to cut the two lengths of ABS 2" pipe for the skimmer. The skimmer bulkheads are going to be centered on the inner half of the cutout.

We decided to place two bulkheads on each side at the bottom. Each centered on half the cutout. This places them 6" off the bottom and should prevent substrate from getting in them and still pull debris off the bottom quite well.

Still have to wait on the weather to clear from California to New Orleans. We have a lot to do in the meantime. The plan is to get everything except the coating done while we wait, so we'll just have to coat, cure, and fill.

3 day weekend starts today. Picking up a couple fish and a 90 gallon reef tank then heading home. Should be lots of work on the fish room and hopefully getting things done so not much will be left to do.

I know this build has taken a lot longer than most, but it is going to be finished. Just need to stop hitting these roadblocks and hurdles. Come on warm weather!!!

I'm still alive. Waiting impatiently for the weather to warm up. Worked on the coast to coast overflow and cleaned out the back of the fish room. Hope to get a lot of painting done tomorrow night.
