Yeah kids are unpredictable no matter where you are and what you are doing but you have to take the bad with the good. Curiousity killed the cat so the fish will be ok. ha ha thanks for stocking help.

I don't reccomend fish tanks for little kids. in fact, I wouldn't recommend any pet other than a cat or dog for a child that young. I don't think at that age they are able to understand that fish can't be touched, ect.

Then why do you have a fish tank?

How about some African dwarf frogs? your kids would love them. You could probably put 3 in there. Just a siggestion.

You know I was thinking about frogs but I have never kept them. I have had the 5 gallon for a while but it has been tore down for six months or so I was thinking about getting it back up so I am very open to suggestions. Do you keep dwarf frogs and are they easy to keep?

I think a group of neons for a 3 year old would be visually stimulating with the colors and movement (but that's the artist/teacher in me!!)

Oh, definately don't get a dwarf puffer for a three year old then.

yeah, dwarf puffer is totally out. i'm having trouble getting mine to eat, and I'm a fish scientist!

well, african dwarf frogs are easy to keep, as long as you can get them to feed. they can be finicky eaters, and may only eat if you put food right up near their mouth, but other than that, they're as easy as pie.
