7.5 gallon betta tank

Wilds normally need more swimming room than a domestic splendens.

They are also incredibly jumpy,so if you want to keep them for more than a day or so a tight fitting lid is essential.that includes space around the filter etc.

Depending how far from the wild they are (number generations etc) they will need low hardness and low pH water. Ours do fine in tap water, but have used peat in the filter and indian almond leaves too.

It was just a thought. I do have hard water and a slightly higher ph. I do have some species of fish that prefer softer water and lower ph, and have no issue.
Exactly Vinc! :3 I herd that soft water fishes will adapt to harder and alkaline water with no problem, especially captive bread, but no hardwater fishes that likes hard and alkaline water.

Some species have been bred in capacity long enough that they can live in local water... Evolution and all that.

You are welcome to try some of our juvies to see how they do.
