Sound like Microbubbles. I don't know what causes them or how to get rid of them, but they certainly sound like microbubbles.

what are they???

overfeeding is more of a problem than people think. one thing about fish is that they can survive for months without being fed. my tanks overstocked right now, so i only feed every 2-3 days, but i could be waiting even longer. really cutting it on feeding will solve your problems.

I can't cut on feeding, I have juvie discus(3"), they need food at least once a day, and same for my breeding pair of angels. And i feed minimal. And it isn't food particles floating around.

Just remember... Don't replace, run the old behind the new for a month then replace. :)

No, it will be an add on, i used to have a marineland pengiun 350 on there with the eheim canister, but then I had to use that for my 20G. I am getting a new one as an add on, for extra flow, the canister is more than enough for the tank, at up to 160 gallons.

nobody else on ideas for clear water, i'll put some pics up in 2-3 hours, after i get home.

Well, I will try carbon asap, water clarifier(will this harm loaches)? Filter floss isn't fine enough.

loaches cant take salt, but im not sure about the other stuff.

nope, we lost the house bc, even though its brand new(10 years old!), the original builders screwed up the structure foundation(which is REALLY MAJOR HERE BC I LIVE IN EARTHQUAKE ZONE IN CA!!!!!!!!!!), so the stupid original biulder cut 1 of the 2 original supports(holding the house up) just so he could fit the door:(

the owners were shocked too:(

so mad at builders, we had signed, and everything, and were going to move in in 2 weeks from now, i hate that biulder. feel like punchin him.;)

but whatever, we already found a new house WITH a pool, a bit more expensive(1.4), but it is giant, and has room for some dirt bmx jumps in the backyard.:)

back to fish:)

so, im home, emailed eheim company

told them that my marineland penguin 350 for 70G tanks($30) keeps water clearer than a $250 filter for up to 160Gs.

He is shocked, i guess:) his first thought was tons of algae:), but nope, the 2nd thought was sand, even though i told him no sand in my tanks.

didnt you say you were gonna have pics?
