oh sorry, my bad :)

excuses excuses :D

its only really a ten second job really I guess (never done it myself though, so don't my word for it). seen as it is quite obvious to determine female from male. again, you have to be observant, especially on smaller cichlids :)

You don't even need to take the fish out of the water in most cases.....

I haver vented angels but I have vented mbuna. Basically males are oo and females are oO on the underside. Google it for more pictures. Once you know what you are looking for it's pretty easy. As long as the fish is large enough. On very small fish it's tough to tell. With my mbuna they are easiest to tell when over 2.5 inches long.

okay, now im confused, so i have babies like quarter size or smaller bodies, with like 3" fins.;)

so would this still work

and yeah, i agree with rb, if its easily visible, why would u need to take it out? really confused here. idk. i guess i will try taking it out to check on the smaller baby angels, except they are super scared, and stress easily, and jump around everywhere.

thanks man:)

it will actually be looking great once i solve the filter problem;) and the co2 gets here;)

thx!

Finally, I solved the filter problem, guess what, it was that the micron filter pad was too soft, and flexi, so it bent and shifted around in its personal media box, so that only 1/2 the water actually made contact with it........LOL
I fixed it, I put one of those cheap plastic frames that u use with cartridges in HOBs, and walla, stiff as a board, and wow, the water is crystal clear;) I also planted the java ferns(I'll tie those to the DW later on), and planted the blyxa. Looking good for now, pics maybe in a week or so as I am going to oregon for 5 days starting tomorrow;)

I was thinking about that nicole;) BUT, the flow rate has already decreased quite a bit from my own extra bio-media and new cartridges, I will try the polyester idea once the new penguin 350 bio-wheel gets here;)

so, your new filter arrive?

Nope:(

Its coming in next week, it doesn't matter now though, bc im going to oregon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

anyways, dude, i checked a giant bag of polyster at petco(enough for like 4 canister filters), and it was $3!!!!!!:) I bought it, obviously, and will shove it in my filter next time I do any maintenance;)

pics when I come back
