they wont always move if they are unhappy. just because your clam doesnt move doesn mean it wont die. im not saying it absolutly will, just saying that the fact that it isnt moving doesnt mean it it's doing well.
 
IT IS A FILTER FEEDER AS WELL ITS GETTING THE PHITOPLANKTON I FEED MY CORALS PLUS I FEED THEM MARINE SNOW. PLUS I AD IODINE ALL THE CLAM NEEDS TO SURVIVE YOU CANT TEL BY THE PITURES I TAKE BECOUSE OF THE CAMARA BUT THE COLORS LOOK MUCH BETTER KNOW THAN WHEN I GOT IT. EVERY ONE ON THIS FORUM TELLS ME ITS GOING TO DIE GEET NEW LIGHTS. BUT ITS DOING FINE IM THE ONE THATS LOOKING AT IT EVERY DAY FOR HOURS YOU KNOW HOW IT IS.
 
IM HAPPY WITH HOW MY CLAM IS DOING IT ONLY OPENED UP WIDE ONCE AND THAT WAS THE DAY I PLACED IT IN THE SPOT ITS AT NOW. AFTER THAT IT OPENS UP NORMAL.

I'm not a clam expert at all but it seems you've only had it for a month or so. It may take weeks or months for it's health to decline under less than ideal conditions. I hope all goes well.

Anyhoo, I think it spread out so wide cause it was trying to get more light... why cant you put it closer to the lights? On one of my reef books, it said that sometimes it takes 1 day for them to attach permanatly... (the reef aquarium)

I wouldn't dose iodine, if i were you, unless you have an iodine test kit, and a good idea of what range it should be in.

But maybe that's been covered...I just read the last page. *BLUSH*
