Ace25's 75G Build Thread

Here are some updated pics... I have quite a few slimer frags just from the rescape that I can't get rid of and actuallyl just killing them right now. :( I gave away so many frags no one will even take them anymore. I conned flomojo into taking the big piece on the top right frag rack tonight along with my prostrata. That one grows too fast also and I am having a "green coral" overload in my tank so I need to part with a few greens.

BRAVO ACE! Now THAT is AMAZINGer (was already amazing before).

Funny, it's hard to believe it actually looks like there's MORE coral than before??? Unbelievable after the coolerfull of coral I got from you!

Loads of color, and it is only going to get better as the colonies expand. As I mentioned earlier, I can appreciate the wisdom you've excercised in each coral's placement relative to characteristic growth patterns. The Red Planet, especially, looks 10X nicer displayed at that angle. Really shows off the green base and the denser red polyps in the body as it tables out. Though, I suspect with the astonoshing growth rates going on in there it won't be very long until you'll be pruning again. I like where you placed the Setosa, soon to be the star of the show. The flower petal cap has plenty of space to fan out. Very inspiring job you did.

Thanks guys.. it was definately a stressful week but I am extremely happy with the outcome. At first I didn't think I was going to be able to fulfill my ideas with the rock I had and stopped at just the right side the first attempt... the next day when I tackled the left side it was much easier and everything fell into place. So much more color now.. corals are displayed and placed better for growth and observation, and this was after I got rid of quite a few corals to Flomojo. Now I am able to have my "zoa" section with my nice zoas I picked up a couple months back. My SunnyDs have 5 heads and my Darth Mauls have 4 heads, both had 2 when I picked them up at the end of May so they are growing pretty good.

I admire Ace's success and attitude with "spreading the wealth" in this hobby. It's hard enough bankin' all the equipment and supplies, plus nothing more taken from our ocean.

Ace, if you can get a nice shot you've gotta show off those DM's and SD's under actinics. Mine are only a couple heads of each now and they GA-LOW!!!

The PVC frame is a closed loop return. About 1100gph of flow that very gently comes out of the holes in the frame just to make an updraft current. The idea was to get a current that would help suspend deitrus so it couldn't settle in the sand. I think it worked out very well because when I had a SCWD on it and it broke, allowing only flow on the right side I was having deitrus problems on the side that did not get flow.

I have a 3 head Duncan for you Flomojo... also made 2 2head ones but those didn't come out as well so I need to give them time to heal and see if they make it. The 3 head one came out good though.

I had to put my cleaner wrasse back in the main tank this morning. I was giving him a bad name.. turns out it was my Argus wrasse causing the damage.. watched him take a nasty bite out of my potters wrasse yesterday and looked bad this morning when he woke up so I tossed my cleaner wrasse back in and he started cleaning the potters wrasse, angel, and lawnmower blenny like crazy immediately. The 2 Potters actually lined up for cleaning and wanted it badly it seemed.
