When ordering through an LFS, it's still HIGHLY advisable to be home when the delivery arrives at the LFS, and pick them up immeadiately and still in the breeders shipbox. Make sure you're tightly coordinated with the retailer, and that the retailer understands what you need to do.
Most private tropical retailers shuold be all too happy with this arraingement, since they get a small markup, and no shop employees have to unpack them, etc.
Best part is, the fish are never exposed to dubious central-systems, and you acclimate the new arrivals only once; the breeders water to yours. No third step greatly improves the fishes chances.
You should also inquire as to the breeders water parameters so you may attempt to match it withing a few points and degrees.
