yeah, it's too bad

Will do If m phone ever charges! lol

I'm also considering getting a singular keyhole cichlid and just doing a trio of apistos. What do yoy guys think?

I definitely wouldn't consider Apistogrammas due to the size of your tank. In previous months I got 'steel blue' Apisto, I had it in 35 gallons and killed 2 little angels and I had to give it up. I think that sometimes they can be too territorial and aggressive.

What about electric blue acara? Would it work out?
If not, maybe a pair of bolivian rams for OP?

EBA get too large for a tank only 30" long.

BR's in my exp. need a big tank to mix with other cichlids.

Love the broken pot. What did you make it from? Does it effect the water in any way?
Just a pot I found at goodwill. I etched then drilled it. After that I sprayed it with vinegar. Then let it soak in a vinegar/water solution over night. I emptied the container and soaked it for another night in the same solution (except a new solution) for another night and it was done. It doesn't effect the water chemistry at all. (very lucky) But I wouldnt get any old pot. If the anything bubbles when the vinegar is sprayed on it it isnt safe for aquarium use.

interesting how you say that. i'm going to disagree with you here. The tank is plenty big for apistos. The angels are fully grown (although one is slightly stunted). I agree with you that SOMETIMES they can be super aggressive. I think that I'll be fine and am willing to rish it wit them (if it doesnt work'll re-home them).

I think that I'll just stick with a trio after this. (rather than two pairs). Now that I'm not going to get two pairs I might get a keyhole. (I 'm still not sure though)

I have concidered bolvian rams but want something flashier. Thanks. If apistos don't work I may go with Bolivians.

Ture. With the exception of if the EBA was the only fish in the tank.

I have never had an electric blue acara, but I know a couple of people who have kept it in their tanks and I have received good comments from them. Bolivian rams are peaceful fish, there is no doubt about them, and if they are fed the right way they will develop quite interesting colors.

Amazoniantanklvr, I agree that sometimes the apistogrammas become aggressive, they are fish with enormous beauty, but for my part all I have seen have had a bad character, territorial and harassing, even in tanks of 65 gallons. I hope to add two pairs to my new 90 gallon setup but I should think of a plan b, in case there is a need to withdraw them. If you get your trio I wish you good luck.
