The only reason that I stopped considering them was that they aren't very colorful. I might get some GBRs if the apistos don't work but I don't know.I have never had an electric blue acara, but I know a couple of people who have kept it in their tanks and I have received good comments from them. Bolivian rams are peaceful fish, there is no doubt about them, and if they are fed the right way they will develop quite interesting colors.
Thank you. Good luck to you too!Amazoniantanklvr, I agree that sometimes the apistogrammas become aggressive, they are fish with enormous beauty, but for my part all I have seen have had a bad character, territorial and harassing, even in tanks of 65 gallons. I hope to add two pairs to my new 90 gallon setup but I should think of a plan b, in case there is a need to withdraw them. If you get your trio I wish you good luck.
Im not sure what strain to get. Double red or 'rio xingu'. I want blue. Which would you get? However there is a price difference with the DR being cheaper.
