ok, i don't need to loose a hundred pounds and i don't have issues about my weight, would just like to loose those pesky ten pounds from the babies, the youngest is two so ..i guess its about time, ..i really am not into counting calories, and mild exercise is fine,, buti really am lazy..so no running ten miles or anything, i did that when was like 16, it mattered more then i guess, just thinking that maybe someone has learned a good trick like eating melon for breakfast and then everything else is normal..have to look a little better my moms wedding is coming up and seeing family and friends i havent seen in years!

Diets come and go. Exercise is as old as man. Wouldn't it be better to run the 10 miles and feel like you were 16 again! If you just have to change the way you eat then the best rule is: breakfast like a king, lunch like a peasant, and dinner like a BIRD! (a variation on an old theme). Eat all the calories, carbs and fat you want at breakfast; you've got all day to work it off! But always default to excersize. Many, strike that, MOST diets are quite unhealthy in fact.

There is not miracle diet. Yes, there are many that will result in short term weight loss, but these are seldom healthy, and you often lose muscle rather than fat.

But--exercise doesn't have to be running 10 miles a day. Add a one mile walk to your day (doesn't have to be all at once--things as simple as parking at the far end of the parking lot count for a lot), and go with portion control. Doesn't mean counting calories--it means paying attention to WHAT you eat, WHEN you eat, and HOW MUCH you eat. Make sure you're getting a healthy balance of nutrients--and plan to have meals be about 400-500 calories (including beverages), with 2 snacks of about 100-150 calories in between.

Healthy eating is not a trick, it's a plan.

Eat more venison! More protein than beef! Less fat than chicken! If properly prepared better flavor than both!

If you want a diet to follow, Weight watchers is pretty much what Orion Girl outlined. They even have a no counting version now, and they have an internet option.

A balanced diet and exercise are pretty key. Cut out the clearly useless calories like soda and candy. Try to reduce the amount of processed sugars where you can. For example, wheat bread instead of white, whole grain pasta instead of the standard stuff (this is getting a lot easier to find). Keep a grip on your portions and eat until you're not hungry any more rather than til you're full. Eating more smaller meals a day will help speed up your metabolism as well.

Add the exercise wherever and whenever you can. If you're walking someplace, walk a little faster. Skip the escalator and take the stairs. Walk to a coworker's desk instead of emailing. They're little things but they'll boost your energy level and metabolism making you want to exercise more.

so i guess i have to get rid of soda and start walking! ,,,hmmm...yeah ..i don't want to loose muscle..i am pretty solid...i know this may sound dumb..but any one have any good tricks ..that i can do to tone the tummy while walking? i am not really looking forward to sit ups ...you know like can i do like power walking will that help the abs?so i guess ill have to do exersise...has anyone ever did the whole pillates thing ...?....thought about weight watchers,...my mom and little ister have acheived awesome results with that program..i have taken their intake package and i ..acoording to them am fine...so i guess.....any looking for a walking buddy in the statecollege area?

I love pilates! One of the best set of exercises ever, so easy to adapt to your level of fitness. The toning is great. Without morning pilates, I get back aches, so that's what keeps me motivated. Pilates sit ups are also much better for you than the standard movements, or even crunches.

The thing to keep in mind is that you can't 'target' weight loss. It all comes of from all deposit areas. You can tone the muscles in a specific area, but getting them to really show is a matter of total weight loss.
