any one know of a good diet?

I have the winsor pilates on dvd..its the basic workout set..three dvds total...maybe illtry those after i drop my daughter off to school in the mornings..i have decided that since her school is about a half mile ..up hill both ways that it should be a good exercise plan to start walking her before it gets to cold! then i figure i could be warmed up enough to try the pilates after a coupla weeks..basically by the time it gets cold ..ill do the pilates after i take her instead of walking ..as for limiting foods ..now thats a different story..i could give up oda ,,,but my food ..now we are messing in dangerous territory ...it stinks ..i was so used to staying in shape playing softball, and with the kids my play time is so limited . tornaments kill me ...im so sore by the end ..i cant move ...lol so i guess i could use the exercise

~100lbs is the average weight of a 5" person. Add another 10" and your weight should go up. I'm 5' 5" and 115lbs. But it varies 110-120 depending on the time of day.

We are learning this stuff in health. No diet is a good diet. Its all a balance. Eat the right portion sizes, lots of filling, low fat food, and exercise. 15 minutes 2-3 times a day is all you need. Eventually you will see results. Just go slow and steady.

Best way to reach your ideal weight is to eat well (don't skip meals!) and excercise. Walking is the one of the easiest and best ways to exercise...costs no money, and puts little strain on your joints. :)

That said, sometimes it's nice to have a plan to motivate you. I've heard that Weight Watchers is one of the best programs. Consumer Reports did a good comparison of the different diets out there...their report was in the June 2005 issue.

For exercise, I love pilates, yoga and tai chi. Lately I've been taking belly dancing classes...good aerobic excercise, plus really works on those "tough to tone" areas. ;) Taekwondo is something I'm probably going to try in the spring, when my kids try it. Also toying with the idea of swimming again. Now that my youngest is in preschool, I have a few hours during the week that are mine...and I'd love to fill that time with exercise. :D

Eat a big, high fiber breakfast, drink lots of water and get some belly dance videos. When I was doing the belly dance my belly started looking better after two weeks of working out 3 days a week.

It can be misleading to aim for an average ideal weight. There are so many variables: fitness level (muscle mass), age, sex, etc. As a teenager I was typically between 110 + 115 lbs, and was very fit. I gained a little more during my early twenties, but was even fitter, with more muscle mass, and was up to 115-120 lbs, which is probably my ideal weight (I'm 5'3" tall). At 105 lbs I looked too thin. I won't say where I'm at now...before my first child, my weight had gone up dramatically, and then, after two children, I dropped down to 116 lbs, but not a lot of muscle, after my third child I'm still struggling with a few extra lbs, but with exercise I should come down to my ideal again...now if I could just stay away from the munchies while watching Survivor! LOL! :D

To get a better idea of your own, personal ideal try calculating your BMI.

i am also average..i guess, acoording to the second bmi caculater ..i am just three pounds from where i should be... its just muscle weight i swear..no just joking ..i know i could just tone up, it probably would be healthier,,,but i am seriously a lazy person! ..walking to school with my daughter will have to suffice, i cant loose to much weight or i look sick, i am fairly tall i am 5 8 so ..hopefully walking and some pilates will help!

3lbs iset that much. Your weight can go up and down 5++lbs depening on the time of day. You are always sweating and 80% of your body is water, so it can really change. The BMI isent the best either. A really stong person can habe too high of a number, while a person of the same high can be perfect.
