Any thoughts on the Anthony verdict?

Personally I think none of us can really say anything here... unless you were there in the courthouse, of course. But what do I know, I'm a 17-year-old kid who was more concerned about grades and getting a job and if that girl down the street liked me or not. I didn't follow the case at all.

Have you seen the latest where the jurors are sick to their stomach because of what they did ?

The juror interviewed alluded to the fact that they'd have felt worse had she been convicted and sentenced to death under the same circumstances.

That is quite common for people serving on a jury. Requiring therapy after a trial like this isn't far-fetched either. All the evidence they have to study, the arguments they have to hear, and then no matter what their personal opinion might be they have to come up with a verdict (which may be entirely against their personal opinion). It isn't an easy thing to do on these types of cases.

Plus it doesn't help that afterwards half the public blames them for the outcome of the trial.

OJ got away with murder too. Have you forgotten?

"If it doesn't fit, you must acquit" applies to this case as well. Having watched a great deal of the case, I feel the state never "proved" nor came up with a reasonable theory. Taken in that context, the jury was correct. I still feel that at the minimum she should have been charged with neglect, which was not an option.

I do think that the judge was wrong in allowing the defense to to make suppositions and accusations without the benefit of proof.

We may never know he real truth.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

See here's the thing, it's not the justice system in and of itself that there is a problem with. The problem lies within the sate being too rushed to close a case, I believe I may have stated this before don't be made at the jurors or the justice system for doing what it is suppose to do instead be mad at the prosecution for being too hurried to bring charges against someone and not being able to do what it was suppose to do.

I think we had best not get involved in what works or whats wrong, as that would be rather political, would it not?

Yes, and I would be too. Honestly though, they did what they were suppose to with what they had. I think if they would of given them a different option the verdict may of been different. With the death penalty one really needs to prove without a shadow of doubt IMO and they just couldn't do it with the case they had. She was a horrible, horrible person and any Mother that can go out partying while their baby is missing and not report their child missing for a month, they deserve to be in jail and need to be fixed so not to ever have another child again...unfortunately we are not allowed to do this.
