Arapaima Pond Build

yeah, that whole jumping and ramming thing may make standing near that wall watching him a little frightening if he gets nervous. DUCK!!!!

Well I had the same thoughts before when he showed up, but as said before, he has never jumped except for good reason to be scared. Still, taking no chances on it an get the fences up before he moves...

Got some nice tilapia today from a neighbor. All pink, but very nice fish that will go in this week. Makes it species No. 3...

So, I have to read the thread from a little bit ago, but from what I've seen on this page, hehehehe, can't wait to see the pond finished. Perhaps you can get some native vine plants to grow around/in/on the plastic fences so they won't be as noticeable? Would also probably add some strength to them if Mr. T decides he wants out.

thanks Fishfriend1, good idea on the vines..Need to get some big potted plants that grow like wildfire..those getting into the fences, would look really cool. And the sides growing in makes it less likely he gets scared as well.
Things are still progressing awfully slow at the moment. Lots of holidays, another long weekend coming up...sigh.
But lets see how far we get this week and next week.
Basically waiting for the sides to go up and we're ready to move. Oh, cut the liner one last time for the skimmer-drain..
Drain itself is all done and ready...just some screws, silicone and a knife..

Did empty the pond 1 more time to get to some nasty stones.
Took a morning to pump out the water with 1 of the pumps.
Then a couple of hours and plenty of sweat to move the liner around and get more bags under and stones out.
Now pretty much at the same level as before, funny sight with the tilapia flashing around.
They are in heaven for now, this huge pond for them.
Wait till Mr. T. goes in...see what they say then...lol.

looks great luc

So far ok, bit upset because I forgot 1 point which is now stretching the liner.
Dubbing between draining again or taking a chance filling all the way. (still 20cm to go).
Draining again will be a matter of pulling up liner on one side when it's empty enough, then a bag of sand and BigBags stuffed under it. Then filling it again.

Nice Tilapia! How dangerous/bad is the lining stretching?
