Are saltwater aquariums harder to take care of

I'll go with "it depends." I agree with SnakeIce that a reef is on the same level as an intensely-lit, heavily planted tank. The worries are different, but the level of attention is quite similar.

true..... but I also think both have their own level of difficulty..... FW tanks are just more focused on different things and needs as a SW tank is...... each with their own levels..... my opinion though is that salt is easier.... more costly, sure but easier....ugh but then I'm thinking, Fresh isn't at all difficult..... I guess like the above posts, most things depend on your research.
Sooo, does this make you a Marine girl or a fresh girl???

My opinion is - saltwater aquariums are much 'harder' on the wallet.

You should invest in an encyclopedia. For every species in freshwater there are a thousand in saltwater.

Actually freshwater species compose about 40% of the known species of fish. Taking into consideration the percentage of habitable freshwater vs. habitable marine water, freshwater systems as a whole are far more biodiverse.
