Are you emotionally attatched to your fish?

Yeah I am, the responsibility weighs down big time on me. I understand that these fish are putting their lives and trust for their well being into me and I take it very seriously.

some of them.
i'm attached to the fish that I picked out... like my black moor especially, because i've had him for 4 or 5 years.
I'm also fairly attached to our archers because they're full of personality and they're fun to watch.
i have a slight distaste for the livebearers... i wish we didn't have them, but my boyfriend picked them out for his tank.. so we're stuck with them.. i still get concerned when they're sick/hurt because they are a life after all.. i just dont really care about them otherwise... and would definitely prefer that someone else would have taken them home.

basically the ones that i have named, i'm emotionally attached to.

I'm fond of all my fish, even the troublesome ones. However, I would have to say that I'm guilty of favoritism, and I do get pretty upset when fish I've had for years die. With the little tetras and rasboras and barbs, not so much. Livebearers very little.

So, yes, I have emotional investment in all my fish because I realize that they are all living beings that deserve my care and respect.

Oh yea! Im super attached!!! :)
I remember when my boyfriends rubber lip killd my royal... Oh man, i was devistaded!!!! Put soo much stress on me that i kept blowing up at my boyfriend. LOL.

Yes, but more so the discus and the larger, older characins that I recognize and have been "there from the beginning" (of this tank). I am also very fond of my clown loaches because they're funny clowns and was surprised when I thought I'd lost one of my little corys - only to find that he/she had somehow gotten himself buried under some driftwood. He's healthy, happy and fine now and I'm relieved.

Love? Maybe not, but fond. I love my Golden Retriever. She's quite a dog and at 14 years old has outlived/outstayed all of my fish (and wives).

I was thinking I was eccentric lol. I spent ages choosing my black moor out of a tank of about 50 lol, the man managed swiftly to catch the right one! I think im TOO attatched to it...

Is it just me, or DO fish actually have personalities, I mean, when i go near, or lift off the lid, he swims fast up to the surface and sort of looks at me, he eats out my hand, he follows my finger, sometimes I think I can even tell when hes happy or sad! am I mad?!

I am, of a few fish...

Ruben my betta

Mowgli my betta

Catfish my Corydoras something-with-an-"M"

Pickle my gourami

Idiot the black skirt tetra

I am most attached to my fishes emotionally as well! I wanted to sell my 10 gallon to put money towards a bigger tank! I put the add and everything got responses.. can't do it :( I'm sooo attached to them!
