Bala Sharks & Convict Chichlids?

30G is really to small to house all 3 of those fish. It might be big enough to house one of the above, MAYBE, but certainly not all 3.

so only one chichlid?

keep in mind, I'm not even sure if this is an issue, but i have a couple filters going. oh yea! and i need a heater for chichlids right? and what is the benifit of breeding? isn't my tank too small already?

yeah, you'll need a heater for cichlids. you'll need a heater for any tropical fish really.

Well, the thing is Convicts have been know to breed in just about any conditions. People even joke about them breeding in toilets. I just thought it might be fun to watch. that's all really. I'd research lots about cichlids and see if this really is the type of fish you want. There are so many choices is overhelming sometimes!!!

what type of filters are you running on this tank?

a 30 gallon would be much to small for a green terror, especially since males can get pretty big. a pair of convicts would be fine in your tank though, but do not add a red tailed shark to it; it WILL get ripped to shreds by the convicts.

Depends on the shark, I have a redtail shark in with a Red Devil and a Jack dempsey, used to be in with a melanchromis auratus, all 3 of which are more agressive than convicts, and the shark is just fine. As as matter of fact, my shark chases my Jack Dempsey and Jewel cichlid all over the place.

yes all tropical fish should have heaters in the tank. adding a bunch of filters wont doesnt mean you can add more fish.

Nope those are both bad choices as they are both too big and the Green Terror are called Green Terrors for a reason
