along with the hammer suggestion, for the larger fish, putting it in a RESILIENT plastic bag and slamming it as hard as possible on some pavement would work.. like a burlap bag maybe too.

because ammonia will merely burn the gills.. the alcohol will poison their entire body through the blood.
and that would do what, if it was a 14" oscar and you happened to be a 98 pound person?
I feel if the fish is so close to death that someone would even consider any of the posted options, nothing would really add more stress or suffering, IMO.......:goldfish:
