Betta tank upgrade - what to do with the 1.5gallon?

I'm glad to hear you upgrading the betta..they are so much happier being able to move around, you'll see a big difference in his personality :grinyes:

As for that 1.5, I agree with the others a shrimp or snail tank...good luck, how bout some update pics....I LOVE PICS!

sometimes the light bulbs alone for those small tanks are enough to heat them

I'm going to upgrade my son's betta from a 1.5 gallon mini tank to a 6 gallon Eclipse. (Speed {Racer} will be much happier that way.

Awesome name, just hope he's not named cause of the AWFULLY RETARDED new movie...... (sorry, iam a major fan of the old Speed)

good idea with the 6 gallon eclipse. i was gunna do a shrimp and betta tank with a 5 gallon....but none of the pet places near me have any under 10 bux.

Classic Speed, all the way. We check out the season compilation DVD's at the library.

Based on what I've read, I will go shrimp and a snail (which can come home as it grows to a bigger tank). So next question would be - what kind of shrimp? What is the easiest to see, and what do I feed it? I may have to start a new thread over in inverts!

AWESOME, AWESOME TO THE MAX! GO GO SPEED RACER!

Er, I'm sorry to butt in after you decided, but small killifish can live in that tank

How many killifish? Could I still have a snail or shrimp assuming I keep my water clean?:)

Just so you all know, I'm totally a planner. I don't even have the 6 gallon yet, still shopping for the best deal. I like the eclipse because everything is under the hood - less for little fingers to get into since it is going into a 5 year olds room! I'd say we're a few weeks away from this plan going into effect. So there is still plenty of time to change my mind......

Well, clown killies are hardy and grow to 1.5 inches each. One or two of them, since without the dimensions of the tank I can't really judge swimming space. You'd probably still be able to keep a shrimp.
