That bird is a taxidermy American kestrel (and yes I own the legal papers to possess it, since it's a native protected species). Thing is older than I am, inherited it from someone. He's very special, he guards the top of the aquarium very well
he's a bit battered, but he's in good shape considering hes well over 30 years old. Though he could probably use some restoration... he's held up really well. I hope he stays in good condition... will probably donate him to the local nature center in my will lolClose up for you, and his registration with cause of death

Is your cockatiel intimidated by the similar sized mounted kestral? My pet birds liked to bathe & drink in the tanks or filters...until each fell in 1 time. I always offered bathing & water dishes but oooh! tank water was just too tempting, lol.

it'll always turn back to topic eventually anyways as I update things.Yeah my cockatiels aren't overly fond of the kestrel haha so I keep it out of their usual view. They're afraid of weirder things though. They fear most anything that is pink with white polka dots. In laws came over once and had their little Yorkie poo in a coat with that colour pattern and jeez they freaked like the world was ending. They were more terrified of that then the tornadoes that hit our city in the last couple of years. Go figure.
Have been adding in the juvenile hoplos as they get big enough that the goldfish won't eat them.

Well, I think I see the hoplo kids but I'm disappointed I didn't get a better look at them (sniffle)

Two newbies. Both blind. Still 3 more in another tank still growing.
This is my oldest baby from the very first nest. Young male fish, almost full grown.
I also have accidental shrimp in there too that have avoided being eaten. They probably hitchhiked with floaters that got dumped in from my 10g lol
