Blue's Tang Tank

Ok so my eel is paid for and I will be picking him up at the ACA :D

Today I changed my 29 from flourite to sand. I found a steal of a deal on white play sand that was already washed and very consistent in size. It was cleanest play sand I have ever seen but still made a HUGE mess when added to the tank, despite being washed by me. I mixed in some left over black I had and stuck in the plants. I can hardly see into the tank at all now so I have no idea where which plants went. I have accounted for most of the fish except 1 calvus. Once it clears up more I should be able to find him. The synos are LOVING the sand and have been out and about ever since it went in the tank. My biggest calvus is super stressed so I'm not doing any more water changes tonight.

Wow!

I used a little packet of Bio-magnet clarifier on my 29 gallon. I had gotten it with a bag of TMS but hadn't used it since my water never got cloudy from the sand. I tried it since why not and within an hour my tank was crystal clear. I'm in shock. It should have taken at least a day but nope an hour. This stuff works! There's some dust all over the place but the water is clear :)

The tank definitely looks better with the sand!

Thanks!

I found the 3rd calvus and he's fine. I did notice that my calvus have hit a growth spurt. It use to be easy to tell them apart based on size but now it's more difficult. There is still 1 larger one but the other 2 are catching up quickly. I think part of it is they have switched from flakes to NLS (finally big enough to eat it).

I hate to do this to you guys but this is a short update with no pictures :(

Anyway I got the eel and after a crazy couple of days he is in the tank. After being in the tank for 2 hours I offered blood worms and he gobbled them up and ate again this morning. I'm not sure how much he's suppose to be eating I just stuffed worms in the rock pile where he was hanging out. He;s only 5" and looks fantastic!

pics of the eel or it didnt happen!
