can this be done?

Eels are awesome. Not sure which you would get, but I have witnessed in one case a Tessalata (Sp?) eel I think it was eat a shark. It was at a 1000 gallon pond at my LFS. The eel went after the foot long shark and killed it. Probably rare but I just thought I should share it.

Possibly wear gloves when putting your hand in the tank? Something that can't get into the tank and harm it from the gloves.
 
do you think a lionfish sting would go through thick rubber cleaning gloves?
 
Don't know much about their spines, but the gloves could prevent the spine from penetrating. You only need the tip of the spine to get the poison i believe. And thats bad because if it does slightly penetrate the gloves and into your skin, you will still receive the poison.
 
lion stings aren't that bad and they def aren't dangerous (unless you're allergic) just run the sting site under HOT water and it'll stop hurting in a day or two, another one i've heard is to use vinegar on stings.
your stocking list sounds good if precautions are taken with the lion and hawks/ lion and trigger
 
ok, i will probably just try to stay away from lion fish when my hand is in tank.

Just playing with other stocking ideas as well..... what about

Radiatta lionfish
pinktail trigger
2 striped squirrelfish
1 banana wrase
some damsels or chromis
 
Of course they aren't dangerous, as long as you treat it. But you still don't want to get stung, its definatly not fun. Just be cautious.

I like that stocking list, sounds like it will be pretty neat.
 
lol i really like the green mandarin gobies.... on a scale of 1-10 what do you think the chances of it being lunch are ?? (with either a pinktail or niger trigger)
 
sort of figured 8), what do you think the smallest size fish inch wise is that i can keep with the trigger and lion?
