Catfish ID?

I'm not sure I remember correctly on growth time. That was a long time ago. I remember mine were 4" to 4.5" when I got them. They grew as fast as cichlids, maybe even faster. I want to say it was a year and a half or so. The largest was well over 13" TL and the other two were a bit over 12". I measured them as they died for future reference, because they were so much larger than the literature stated.

Ok thanks, that’s good info and a year or so should be plenty of time for me to upgrade the 55.

You're bound to earn a bit of credit for a 125 in the next year, lol. I've always picked my battles carefully. Honestly, if I really pushed it I could probably convince my wife to let me set up a decent sized reef in the family room, even though it's outside the fishroom. But I don't want or need any more tanks and I like having everything in one self-contained, climate controlled room with a sink. Makes every thing so much easier.

LOL everything is a negotiation. But I’m sure I’ll get it done before the year is up. I’ve already convinced her to let me bring the wolf fish in from the garage next month since the tank is sealed and I can’t run a fan. That sounds awesome, we’re renting this house, but if we ever buy again, I’m hoping to have a plumbed fish room in the garage with AC I’ve thought about doing a reef again, but I hate cleaning salt creep and mixing the water

I can't keep fish in the garage. That's an alien concept for me, lol. Even in summer we'll get down to the mid 60s in the evenings, sometimes down to the 50s, except for a few days spread out through late July and August when we might stay above 70. Even in summer our basement rarely hits 70. The fish room is heated. I can't imagine having to have a fish room with AC. I get too hot at 80 degrees, lol.

LOL 80 sounds perfect to me, we’re around 55f today and I’m freezing. It’s the opposite here, my garage stays around 110f pretty much 24/7 over the summer. I love AZ, but I’m starting to get sick of the summers. I’m from San Diego and we’ve been talking about going back, but the cost of living is almost double

I'm Ohioan, in other words I'm adapted to a "roulette climate."

60 degrees one day and below freezing the next? Constant snow for a week then no precipitation and dry winds for the following two? Snow, sleet, rain, then snow again within a 24 hour span?

That was just last month for me.

I've seen 60 degree swings in a matter of hours here. The best is the thunder blizzards, though. We'll have blowing snow with zero visibility on the ground, but there are thunder clouds above the snowstorm, starting in late March and continuing through mid-May, when we pretty much stop getting spring snowstorms. It's pretty crazy and honestly you can't really imagine it until you experience it. Not trying to outdo you Snagrio, but according to my Dad, who grew up in Steubenville, Ohio weather is nothing compared to Wyoming.

So speaking of Steubenville, I was born there myself. Where in Ohio are you?

LOL, 55 is shorts weather. Unless it's windy, I won't wear anything heavier than a hoody as long is it's above freezing. But I think I'd whimp out pretty quick in that heat.

LOL we can definitely tell who the out of towners are here in the winter. Locals are all bundled up when it’s 55-60 and tourists are in shorts and Ts.
I’ve experienced that crazy thunder snow when I went to Rapid City for a few weeks. It was sunny and then the next morning I woke up and it was dark inside. I guess it snowed all night and Snow drifts were roof high and it was around minus 10. That night there was heavy snow again and freakin tornado warnings. That was when I lived in SoCal so I was pretty slack jawed seeing all that.

Don't think I've experienced thunder blizzards so you got that on me.

I grew up in the south, around Cincinnati. Have been living to the east of Columbus for around a decade. I swear the unpredictable weather has something to do with the location around here, I'm exactly at the meeting point between the plains and the Appalachian foothills. Go 10 minutes west, the ground goes flat as a pancake. 10 minutes east, and you're bouncing up and down ever-bigger rolling hills.

We get those crazy swings here in Phoenix too, it’s over the summer during monsoon season. It will be 115-120 and muggy, then a thunderstorm comes through and in 10 minutes it’s at 65, but when it passes, it gets back up over 100 unless we’re lucky enough to have a big storm that sticks around. But sometimes it will rain 2” in 20 minutes then be sunny and hot again
