Catfish ID?

It doesn't take long to become a cool weather wimp in CA, lol. I do like that in summer it may eventually get over100F but early evening & the "sea breeze" kicks it down 40F+, nice for sleeping with the windows open. I don't miss Michigan or MA winters except for my snow shoveling muscles. Snow is pretty. I remember thunder snow & putting on boots to hike over to the grill. Thunder & hail are very rare here as in "what the heck was that noise?"

FA, I have the opposite kind of spouse, he's a tank enabler (& helper). He doesn't clean filters any more but recently asked how to rinse prefilter sponges. He does do things differently than I do, but like his retirement version of house cleaning help, it's all good! When, after 40 years of marriage, he asked to learn laundry I had to ask if he was planning on divorcing me :D

Haha, being born and spending my first 31 years in San Diego, I proudly admit I’m a cold weather wimp. It’s nice as an occasional treat though. I thought I was prepared for the heat since it sometimes got to 100 in SD , but I learned AZ 100 is different than SD 100, mainly because in AZ it doesn’t cool off at night, it will still be 100 at 2am.
That’s funny, I’m kinda glad my wife keeps my fish keeping in check or my house might be over run with tanks.

I do all the housework now that I'm home except three things. She doesn't trust me to clean the bathrooms to her standard, she doesn't let me mop because she's afraid I'll ruin her hardwood floors, and nobody trusts my cooking. I tried cleaning the bathrooms but after about the third time she went in behind me and "cleaned it the right way" I got the clue. The funny thing is, she couldn't tell me what I did wrong when I asked, I just didn't do it "right".

For three nights now they've been saying we're going to start getting a storm with "historical" amounts of snow. 18" to 30". We've gotten maybe 1-1/2". I'm not holding my breath. We always get the record amounts when we aren't supposed to get snow. High temps are going to be in the 30s, lows in the high teens to low twenties. Actually not too bad, lol, if you're used to it.

LOL, my MA house was overrun with tanks, 10+?! Good thing it was a fairly small house...Our last winter we had 7ft of snow with NO melting in between storms. Our driveway got skinnier & skinnier, even our snow thrower couldn't throw it high enough. I resorted to shoveling a car length of space down by the road before my husband got home & a path to the house...we knew we were CA bound...

Good info on AZ weather. My husband thinks we may want to move there when we can no longer afford CA...I'm now thinking not. I don't like to sleep with AC...

My husband & plant club "made me" set up a 5ft 120g over a year ago, almost 10 years since our friend made an awesome stand for it. In some ways I wish I'd stuck to my lower expectation guns & fewer tanks. Enabling spouse is not always the right answer...

I live in the hottest part of AZ, but it’s perfect 7-8 months a year, Tucson is a little cooler and Sierra Vista is very nice, 95 summer and 40-65 winter with occasional snow. Flagstaff is much colder but perfect in the summer. Yuma just sucks , hot and near factory farms in imperial county , but you can still go to the beach for the day
Haha, maybe I better watch what I ask for as far as my wife joining me in the hobby, I can’t swim.

Sounds like my life for the last year, my daughter likes to mess with me and call me mom lol but I got banned from doing laundry today, so I’ll pretend to be disappointed
Yep, I think those meteorologists just like to keep us on our toes. We’ve had major monsoons predicted and then just get a dust storm. Then the next day a small innocent cloud will turn into a microburst and flood half the city

LOL. I don't mind doing laundry, actually. There's only one load a week I don't do, and that's all of her clothes that have crazy, confusing wash-for-fifteen-in-cold-five-minutes-in-hot-tumble-dry-unless-humidity-is-below-40%-iron-only-if-in-Tokyo-during-leap-year-or-in-Budapest-in-March instructions that I don't have the patience to follow. I throw in a load. 45 minutes later, swap it out, start another load, swap it out. Mess around between, fold cloths every third load. The only part of being a house-husband I don't do is I don't watch any stories on the weekdays, lol. I hope somebody gets that reference.

It's starting to come down a bit now. They upgraded it to up to 48". Now 48" would be the largest snow fall at one time I've seen in my life time. We've had such a dry winter I wouldn't be disappointed. We're all stocked up on everything and I don't have to go outside in the next couple of weeks. It'll melt by then.

Haha, that sounds like why I got banned from doing laundry. She said I ruined her clothes. I put it in the washer then the dryer, so...
Sorry, that reference was lost on me.
I wouldn’t want to live in that kind of weather, but as a blue moon occasion it sounds pretty awesome. We had a high of 55 and drizzle today which is the Phoenix equivalent of that lol
