Chain Store Score

Nice!

I had a killer deal at a chain store yesterday. I got about $20.00 worth of plants for $2.50 because the cashier was training a new employee and they were getting so in-depth about punching in the barcode number that they didn't notice the x8 written on the bag.

it is nice you got a great deal, happy for you...

but just remember

retail theft is still retail theft , it dont make any differance why.

at least Petlvr was rang up that way, an error possibly, a cashier taking ownership of an issue and delivering customer satisfaction, a possibility maybe, all the rest of the other stuff is just theft plain and simple.

I believe in Karma, was at a Publix cashed a check, written for 60.00 cash given 75.00. i corrected her. . and i sleep peacfully at night, clearly more than a few here would have simply taken the cash and left.

you know it is wrong, dont try and justify it as anything else because it was " Their error" or because "well it's a large chain store they can afford it"

they obviously don't have many people trained and they end up injuring the fish instead.

This is the exact reason why you should NEVER buy (or steal) your fish from a large chain store. Until they have knowledgeable staff on hand, it just perpetuates the problem. Petluvr, I know it seems like a good thing for you to get this "deal" but do you really want to be a contributor to this problem?

I just happened to be at a different chain store last night and decided to swing by the tanks to see what they had. All but 4 of the tanks were empty and those tanks had mostly gold fish in them. Then I saw this:

I sleep peacefully at night. We're totally different people. I can justify not acknowledging an employee's error; it's their job, not mine. It isn't retail theft, it's company negligence.

I think you're being overly dramatic. I will gladly buy 20.00 worth of plants for 2.50 anytime a large chain store chooses to sell them that way. I went to the register expecting to pay what they cost, I didn't walk out of the store with the extra plants up my sleeve.

Please lets not turn this into an argument over right or wrong. I got what I got because I worked to get, dipping the fish out myself, had the employees done their job and assisted the customer I would have gladly paid the $1.67 per that was advertised. I went into the store expecting to pay the full amount and even told the cashier what the price was, once again had the employees been doing their jobs, which they are paid to do, it would not have happened. As far as helping to advance the treatment of the animals that this store , or any other big box for that matter, I would rather have bought them than leave them there to die a slow death. As I stated I RARELY buy live animals from them or any other big box chain, but I live in a very rural area and trying to find Columbian Tetras around here is like trying to find someone with an IQ higher than 20:)

awwww, petluvr, it seems that we differ on more than just this point of view. But alas we are fish keepers and this we have in common :)

Believe in the power of one, and even YOU can make a difference in the world!

Enjoy your fish (truly, I am not being sarcastic here:))
