I have no intention to medicate the tank to alleviate my problem. I intend to find the source of the problem and eliminate it. I thought filter floss was more for mechanical filtration. Maybe I am mistaken.
The cloudiness in the tank has lessened since yesterday's WC. I think the new carbon is helping. However, it is still not as clear as it has been. I wish i hadn't put off buying additional filtration.
Anyone familiar with the Penquin 350 filter is aware it is equipped with 2 media baskets, 2 sponge/carbon filters, as well as two bio-wheels.
In one basket i have activated carbon. In the other i have a "pot scrubbie", for additional bio filtration.
Assuming the Emperor 400 also has 2 media baskets, any suggestions as to what i should put in the baskets??? I would have a total of 4 media baskets, so maybe fill two with carbon and two with filter floss??? It's seems unnecessary to use pot scrubbies in the baskets, as the 4 bio-wheels should be ample bio-filtration for my load.
