CONFESSION! I FLUSH FISH!

Now burying dead pets is wrong?!?!? Are we to go out and collect all dead animals in the woods so our kids won't find them? Burying your dead pets in the backyard is a good excuse to teach your kids or grandkids about the cycle of life.

btw, since you don't want to be buried, I hope you haven't asked to be stuffed and mounted at the local taxidermy... :tombstone:

Actually I've reconsidered and in the future I'm going to take the chainsaw to any sick fishies in my tank.

Is this thread going to finally be able to :tombstone: ?

just as everything else in this thread that was read too far into. i did not say wrong. i did use the words sick, odd, twisted, disturbing and i'll add a new one... morbid.

wrong would be totally dependent on a set of values.

taxidermy, really? :silly:

sounds like a plan. why didn't i think of that? :wall:

be the 5 or 6 yr old who accidentally kicks the cross over revealing fluffy the families cat who's been sitting there long enough to be hosting a worm colony and then tell me it's not morbid...

Though we never skimped on a proper casket for our dearly departed; nice tissue lined cigar boxes and boot or shoe boxes, satin lined eyeglass cases, and satin lined watches or jewlery boxes, their final resting places were not marked by crosses or monuments, so we never had to experience any such horrible accidental exhumations of the victims in our pet cemetary.

It's not that we were insensitive, it's just that being unsure of the religious preferences of our dead turtles, frogs, fish, beetles, lizards, cats and dogs, we alway chose a simple headstone from the big pile of rocks that were unearthed when my Father decided we needed a bomb shelter*.

*He had a really good start on it, too; a nice deep hole in the ground, but then they announced that, as we were only a few miles from a Strategic AirForce Base, our bomb shelter would not provide safety from the ground shock wave and we would be vaporized anyway.

I think im going to start building little boats and start going to the ocean every time my fish dies and bury them at sea or maybe a I can do a funeral pyre in the back yard when they are sick im sure really hot fire can kill a fish quick or maybe if im really attacked to them I can mummify them!

All in all really guys. If a fish is sick and its obvious its not going to make it or your culling them to maintain the health of the stock of the fish. or whatever JUST DO WHAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU AND LET THE OTHER PERSON DO THE SAME! There are no real right and wrong ways to do this it all up to you and your own moral beliefs. I support everyone here in what they do because they are taking care of the problem how THEY see fit and are standing up for what THEY believe congrats everyone!
