mzaltadena,
opinions ... everyone has one
that said I think many are concerned about 1. oscars in a small tank and 2. your tank is cycling.
first the oscars are babies and may appear to be fine now but it won't be long before they outgrow the tank you have..I raise angels and keep the babies overstocked in small tanks..but..I do frequent water changes(daily when growing them out) and do not plan on keeping the fish in tha small tanks for very long. so you can keep the oscars there for a short period..but unless you plan on getting a larger tank, you should really consider taking them back..sooner is better than later but mostly because you can get credit for them
2. the tank is cycling and a fish that produces a high bioload, like the oscars, are not good in a small tank as the levels will spike sooner and will be harder to maintain.
now, if you are willing to do the water changes, and I mean often, then please proceed.
how are the ammonia levels??
you should do atleast a 50% change based on the last reading, recheck the ammonia and be prepared to so more changes until the levels drop to .25 max.
please feel free to continue asking questions..
