Converting 65 Gallon to planted. Help.

"Single switch to control the entire unit."

i looked before posting, lol.

What types of bulbs are you using with your 4 bulb, celestial set up, Fastlight81?

I have a 30in catalina fixture but the lamps are only 24in. So I have two that are more towards the left and two that are more towards the right. I run a 6500k and a 10000k on the left and the same on the right. I will probably change at least one 10000k if not both to a plant grow or something with a reddish hue so I can get the reds to pop out more in my plants.

As for the post above me, too much light or not enough....most of the time is a matter of opinion. Throw watts per gallon out the window...its useless with t-5 fixtures. It all depends on what kind of plant growth you want and what you are willing to put in to the tank. I ei dose and have considerable high light. and my plants grow like weeds. I love it.

Alright, I've ordered two, two bulb units. That way I'll be sure I have what I need light wise and I can tone it down if I need to. (I've already tried a planted tank with not enough light so I think I'm ok with overkill).

I guess the next order of business would be figuring out CO2?

imo, go pressurized or go home with both fixtures for sure.

you MIGHT get away with diy on a 65 but i wouldn't do it, personally.

indicator = drop checker

This may be yet another silly question but I was thinking the other day. When I clean the gravel in the tank right now I put the siphon in the gravel and stir up the dirt to get it to go up the tube. Would I do that with sand and plants too? Wouldn't that disturb the roots and stuff?
