well scince the LR was ''partially cured'' wouldn't that mean that there'd be some die off from whatever was on there and that the tank was cycling all along?
if it was partially cured, along with die off from the rock and the shrimp decay... you'll get the cycle goin for sure. the ammonia levels should be rising probably. since it wasn't fully cured LR it could be a little longer before you start seeing your results.... however, the bacterias will get going in the live rock. patience is key.
If possible, can you post all your test results on here, it will give us a better indication of how the cycle is progressing and it also helps everyone when the results are always posted through a cycle to see the bigger picture.
As mentioned above, you need to buy liquid test kits, they are far more reliable. There are not many marine keepers who trust the dip test strips and they are far from accurate..Good test kits like salifert or AP are good ones to buy....
Remember these are from dip sticks. Im kind of angry. I knew I should have bought a liquid test instead of these crappy dip sticks! They wernt the cheapest either and the liquid test wouldnt have been cheaper then the 3 tests i got (ph, ammonia, nitrite/nitrate)

Looks like you are def in your cycle. Regardless of how incorrect the dip tests are... you're def in the cycling stage.
I know about buying stuff I dont actually need. I feel your anger. I've been in the same boat with some things. Live and learn buddy. But get those liquid tests when you get a chance....
I got a liquid test kit yesterday that tests for pH, ammonia, nitrite, general hardness and carbonate. On the lable of the ammonia bottle it says for Freshwater. Every other bottle says for fresh and salt water. Is it the same stuff or not cuz im going out there again tonite or tomorrow to get a nitrate test kit so ill pick up an ammonia one if i need to. Also still no drastic changes in the parameters yet.

hmmm.. all my kits say for saltwater or freshwater. if its for freshwater only... you'll need to get the saltwater version I guess. Never heard of that before...

You do NEED to ensure that each test kit that you buy is stated for use with marine OR marine and freshwater. Fresh water only products, personally, should not be used at all.
Bear with the parameters, it takes time and patience..
i dont even trust the fresh/salt test kits...if there are separate ones and u cant uses a fresh for salt...how can one do both...i stick to full marine test kits. but u should be fine. like the others said just wait it through its all part of the beginning.
