Wow, you'd think I'd have picked up on that... :wall:. LOL. I love the alata!

Thought I'd put up some updates since they're a couple months into the growing season. I switched the backgrounds to a white plastic designed to reflect light. Figured I'd see how it works. Everyone seems to be doing pretty well at this point.

Just got a package in today!!! 7 plants total. Keep in mind, I just received it about 3 hours ago. They are a little stressed and deflated... All the Sarrs are going in my bog in my backyard, just have to let them acclimate a little. The D. adelae and Akai Ryu are staying in my terrarium for the time being. And I had to move my N. Alata to make room.

They look awesome, Paul! I love the scarlet belles, and the akai ryu are wicked cool! I hope they all do well for you! Thanks for posting the pics. I'd love to see the bog if you have a pic of it. =)

Don't have a pic of the bog yet, it's kind of a sad excuse for a bog. It only has 1 Sarr x catesbei, which is a hybrid between a S. purp x S flava. I bought it as a S. purp, but they sent that to me instead. a couple months later I realized it didn't look anything like the S purp. The plant they sent my is $5 more that what I bought it for!:laugh:

side note. Since S. purp, along with a couple others can be found in pine barrens (20 mins from me) does anyone know if its illegal to go collect 1 or 2 of them?

I know a lot of places it's illegal to collect wild plants, not too sure about Jersey though. Local wildlife resources should be able to help.

i know there are large areas of the pine barrens in nj that are protected completely. which areas i'm not sure of though. they consider them sanctuaries since there's endangered species of plants and animals in abundance there. these include a couple meadows of lilies you'd never think were endangered but exist virtually nowhere else for example.
