and I dont want to lose my fish.....and the water is still...well it looks like there is smoke floating around in in....like as in when someone smokes a cig and you can see all the smoke in the room....that is what it looks like in my tank.....

The "smoke" may be a bacterial bloom, and will likely disappear in a few days. I found that my tank smelled for a while too...usually happens early in a cycle. It seemed to really smell up the house (smelled kinda musty/mildewy) That also disappeared as more bacteria became established.

well I think I am going to leave the carbon in there for now anyways....I am just going to do lots of water changes for right now until I can get to the city and get a test kit.... then I'll be back and let you guys know what is going on I guess...
