diy canopy 29g w/light

What was the size breakdown?
You can sometimes get a good deal on glass from a local frame shop.

In the future FYI, you can also just use Poly by itself and the wood will patina a blond color over time. The bottom edges near the water ate the most susceptible to water damage over time so don't forget to get the edges of the boards which are often over looked even by the factory. Good Job, nothing better then home made in my book knowing that a bit of yourself went into the work.

There is Rust-Oleum paint in high gloss, I got it in HD for my base, fast drying (hrs) no need to do anything else.

Rust-Oleum good stuff. I use the rusty metal primer (rust color) to maintain my steel gates. While the neighbors refinish theirs entirely every 2 years with primer and pain, I just go out with a 1 inch and touch up rusty spots LOL.
Oops back on topic, you make me want to make my own canopy, and I have 1 that came with my 80 tank that needs repair from water damage.

I would love to make a canopy like yours but I am such a chicken with electricity .
Good job. By the way how did the lights work for your plants?

Lights worked great. I had about 70 something watts. Plants grew great. But then switched the bulbs to the AHsupply.com 55w kit and it gave me even better results.
