My brother-in-law fishes and has a big fish fry every year..a little of everything. MMM-MMM good! And I love shellfish. No one else in my fanily likes it as much as I do..so when they are out of town I make myself some seafood fettucini. They will eat tuna, tho; and salmon.

Wouldn't be a Newfoundlander if I didn't eat fish. Got to be cod. Nothing like a feed of deep fried cod. Always a litlle disappointing to order fish and chips anywhere off this island. Any of you guys ever have fried cod tongues?

As for eating aquarium fish I read a book on Goldfish and Koi (I think it was Axelrod), where the author visited several fish breeders in Japan, and every host cooked up a prize fish when he came to visit.

Does anyone have a preference of fresh water over salt water fish? I grew up on eating tiny little perch a relative of the walleye. We would catch about 40 of them filet them and then have a big fish fry for breakfast. In my mind perch and walleye(pickeral where I come from) are the best eating fish.

I think this largely depends on what type of fish you like (firm, flaky, white, dark, etc), and where you were raised etc.

The above mentioned perch and Walleye are IMO the best coldwater/ freshwater fish there are. In the more southern Regions, Crappie are as good as it gets, but IMHO Crappie have to be extrtemely fresh to truly be their best (kind of applies to all fish but crappie change quicker than most) crappie in michigan aren't as good as perch IMO, but down south they might be better. And of course ice fishing produces better tasting fish than summer time fishing will.

There are a couple of saltwater species that I would put above Walleye perch and Crappie, but not by much. At the same time, Salmon and Tuna are a totally different flavor than other fish and therefore I don't usually try to compare them. If it swims and is legal I have eaten it. and have found nothing except sea urchin that really didn't appeal to me. The urchin was O.k. as far as flavor, but the texture would turn away most folks I'd guess.

I will not eat any freshwatwer fish Raw, but do not hesitate to eat almost anything from Saltwater raw. Having just return from a Saltwater culinary cooking cruise, I have had nothing but Fish and shellfish for the last 7 days. Pretty awesome trip, I can't wait for the next one.

And I rather enjoy restaurants with fish tanks, provided they are well kept and reasonably stocked.

I voted other, because not only do I eat and enjoy fish. I am also a chef, so I cook a whole lot of them. It's hadr to say what I prefer. If done right and served with the right acompaniments, anything can taste good.

At the restaurant, for instance. We had pan seared Sablefish, caramelized localy grown peaches. with a reisling sauce lightly flavored with sage. Oh man it was good.

We also had wild sokeye salmon char broiled. Finished with a blackberry 'beurre noisette' (brown butter sauce)

I love the taste of fish, I also enjoy fishing. But I don't think of my fish at home in the same way. Even if It was possible to raise a salmon at home, I couldn't imagine killing and eting it.

Fish is one of my favorite foods. Orange roughy, Mahi-Mahi, Salmon, you name it!

Hmmm... could I eat aquarium fish? Well, it depends on how it was cooked.

I did hear about a guy who ate his arowana when it reached its full size.
