Do you stare at your tank??

I just said to myself the other day...Man, you watch the tank more than the TV now. Then I thought about the price tags and realized it was justified. I once thought about a thread topic....what's bigger your TV or tank?

i agree, almo. i watch my tank more than the television as well. and i always seem to find something i didnt' know was there before, like a tiny crab/snail, more pods, or a little sea sponge. and i also agree about the pricetag...haha. i have an old console tv i got at an auction for $1, so my tank is definitely worth more than my television.

is it a problem when it gets me into thinking that watching TV and going to work everyday are becoming a nuisance in watching my aquarium? :perv::eek3::help::drool:

Staring is kind of the point, isn't it? Why have a tank if you're not going to look at it?

I'll take an aquarium over a TV any day of the week. I found it a bit odd that some of you implied that your tanks "take away" from your TV watching time; you've got your priorities mixed up! TV takes away from your tank watching time! Go ahead and sell that sucker off; I did, and I haven't regretted it once.

I am trying to convience my husband into us getting rid of our TV and getting another SW tank. I find my tank much more interesting than the TV. The funny thing is, is that I am turning my son (who is 9) into an aquarium nerd as well. He and I sit in front of our tank for hours on end talking about the same things we see everyday.

Oh yeah, I sit and stare. My family gives me a hard time about it.
It's very relaxing and de-stressing. I have a chair in front of the tank, and when I sit down, I can feel my stress level drop instantly.

I too am a culprit of staring at my tank. Always looking for new things popping up.
At night when the lights are off, I grab my flashlight and spy on things too. Amazing what you find when the lights are out :)
