Ecotech VorTech MP10

I just checked the clearance behind the tank and the wall is crooked where it is...the tank is in the kitchen. The left side of the tank has a 2 inch clearance and the right side has almost 3 inches...so I would have no choice to put it on the right side, but notice the slope of the rock on the left side...do you think since the rock on the right side is tall, it would block any flow?

Ok cool...I would say there is about 6 inches of distance from the right rock to the wall of the tank...so I could put it in the immediate corner. Thanks much!

Now to find a reasonable price/place to buy it. = )

So the tank is on vinyl flooring...would there be any way to bring it forward at all? Strap some holsters to it all over and pull it forward with even strength very slowly all throughout some how?

I had to move our reef tank because we are redoing the flooring in our loving room. I ended up getting a few tubs and pulling out all the rock and coral, draining the tank and sump, and it still took three of us to slide it across the floor (55gal/20gal sump).

yes. It pretty much is the shiznit. Less heat (the motor is outside the tank), less space in the tank, super wide flow, and it pulses. However, i don't think I would choose 1 over the 4 hydors, depending on tank setup. It can do perfectly fine, but it would give too much of a uni-directional flow, IMO.

I'm trying to get one on ebay right now (the MP40w)...I will post pics and/or video when I finally win one for a good price! If anybody can find a good deal on one, please share. = )

I don't want to throw off your search, but looking into Tunze is also an option. They have their very small second generation of full strength streams out now. Very small and very powerful. I took one of the older, larger models and modded it and it produces a broader, higher volume stream than any vortech (the downside is that it must sit inside the tank completely). Just food for thought.

^ What do you mean by modded it? Also, do they come with the same computer type controller that the vortech comes with or do you have to buy a separate controller?
