My betta's eyes are red. I was watching him and right before my eyes white bumps appeared on his body, almost like bubbles. I immediatly moved him into a one gallon with perfect water. Now there are streaks down both sides of his body. Anyone know what to do?

Wow - I don't know, but very alarming! Were there other fish with him originally, if so are they OK?

Other fish are fine. Out of test kits so I can't test. I have him in a completely dark room, hopefully that will keep him calm while I try to figure this out. Hes the betta in my pic. Im trying to stay calm so I can google and not freak.

*prays*

I still can not find anything like it. What would cause a fish to get white bump on it that quickly and then get 2 whitish silver streak down its whole body?

Could the streaks be discolorations from stress, being quickly moved from one tank to another? I know my BP got some black coloring when we moved house. No disease, just a color change. And could the white bump be some kind of bacterial infection.

You're doing the right thing. He's got clean water and you're keeping him calm. That's really your best bet. Clean water, no stress. That's the best thing.

The bad news is I have never heard of anything that can cause this. The good news is I never heard of anything that can cause this. I've been doing this a long time. Sit tight, let him rest in clean water and regroup in the AM when the sun comes out.

The only thing I can think of is not a disease or anything to worry about. Did you just do a water change? Sometimes when water comes out of the tap its got a lot of air dissolved in it from being mixed around in the pipes. When it comes to rest the air comes out of solution, and bubbles will form all over, even on fish. Just like bubbles in a soda. Could that be it?

I believe that bettas get horizontal stripes on their bodies when they are stressed. So the stripes might not be, by themselves, a problem, but might be symptoms of whatever other problem is stressing the fish.
Can you get a pic of the white spots?

I would start treating for bacterial infection... probably other types of infection as well.. I think the red eyes and the spots seem like infection. .and the streaks are very likely from the temperature change.. im not an expert on this but thats my 2 cents
