are endlers a type of guppy? they look alot like a guppy to me.

There has been some debate about whether Endlers are a separate species from common guppies (Poecilia reticulata) or just regional variation. Consensus seems to be that they are a separate species (Poecilia wingei---see http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/pages/item.php?news=889), but they are quite closely related and will readily hybridize with common guppies. These are somewhat rare in the wild and in the aquarium trade, so it's important to maintain the pure Endler lines that we have left and not let them hybridize.

Check these guys out.... They seem to have it all!

Yes, I've seen that site and a few of their listings on Aquabid. I may have to contact them about some peacocks, but I thought I'd try here first. Thanks!

I have some peacocks, though it's nearly impossible to get a decent pic of the males (won't hold still long enough.) They are pure Endler's from 2 different sources to mix up the gene pool a bit, also have heat packs and breather bags on hand for shipping.

Thanks for the replies, everyone! I'm really hoping to find something with tails like these (from Swamp River Aquatics):

I may end up ordering a few from Swamp River, but I thought I'd try here first.

Beautiful fish! I do not like the idea of shipping them. Anyone in Chicago suburbs (W) with community fish for sale?
Yes, they are beautiful fish, and most of the time they do fine being shipped. You will get many more responses if you start your own thread. Welcome to AC!

I have class P black bar. They're pure endler's, but I don't have documentation to trace their ancestry back to Venezuela.
