My bf spent $28 on a royal whiptailed cat. He is a great fish although, had i been at the LFS at the time that purchase would never have been made lol. I like him, but not that much. The most I have personally spent on a fish was $9 for my angel. I bought 5 for the $9 though. I only have one left as they were very tiny juvies(dime sized) at the time and I lost them for whatever reasons. My remaining angel is getting pretty darn big and healthy as ever.

Only like 4$. Seriously, I don't have any room f/ big, expensive fish.

probably $2.60 for an amano shrimp, not even a fish! my two bettas were won at the NJ boardwalks last summer and my black phantoms were purchased 3 for $7, which would make them roughly $2.33 each.

I spent around a $100.00 each for a couple of Paucifasciatus Butterflyfish a couple of years ago. (salt water)

Around the same time I also bought a pair of fresh water fish for my friend that ran 80.00 a peace. I don't remember what they were but I had the money and knew he wonted them. Oh yea I was raised around this friend so yes we were close pluss I was related to his wife.

Lots of people pay thousands of dollars for exotic or purebred cats, dogs, birds & other pets that they have no intention of breeding. Though it's fish, it's still a pet. The enjoyment they derive from watching them, some even petting their fish, is worth the price they pay for it.

although there are some ppl who will drop tht kinda cash just for pleasure, it would be hard for me not to breed and try and get a return. plus u know....buyin a breedin pair kinda indicates breeding in the future lol. but i totally agree with u, some animals , pets or for collection, are well worth the price. i would so pay 350 for a male german shepard and more for a female boxer. can't resist a beautiful animal

I paid $24 for a 5" Tiretrack Eel. He is 7" now and very cool!
