FF1's 40 Gallon Breeder Tank Build Thread

Maybe the pleco died due to underfeeding? Because the other fish would beat him to it, maybe he never got any proper big meals? Just my thoughts on the death, sorry for you loss.

anyway, on a brighter note, your tank shots and photography are coming along great *gives thumbs up* :D

Thanks. Found out the poor critter did die of underfeeding. That's something I'll be careful not to screw up if I ever get another pleco.

So, it's official: My Rams have an interspecies bond! The larger Bolivian Ram and the smaller German Blue Ram get along great. In fact, I rarely see them out of each others site, if they were the same species they'd be mates! No aggression, the smaller one follows the bigger like a nerd with a crush on the hot chick! It's pretty cute to see, I'll try to get a video of it at some point after Irene passes through. But it is sooooo cute to see the GBR following the Bolivian. The GBR is half the size of the Bolivian (if that) so it's extra cute.

Update: No changes in fish behavior or tank specs. All parms are as follows: Ammonia: 0ppm, Nitrites: 0ppm, Nitrate: 20ppm.

The Corys and Rams get alone fine, and the German Blue and Bolivian Ram get along like two peas in a pod. In fact, they stick together, it's so fun to watch them. I'll get a video of it once the purple tub with my SW stuff in it has been moved (no more then 3 weeks from now). Have suffered no losses and none of the fish seem sick or unhealthy. The lighting still needs to be upgraded, but besides that the tank is perfect. Oh, I saw a molly fry (a new one) so that may become a problem in the future. For now, I'm hopeful that none will survive to be adults. If they do.... well then I'll solve the problem by giving them to my LFS as donations.
