opinionz? my opinion:

This isnt the Honda/Toyota/VW/etc 'mods' forum. We are not your "dooDZ".

Please Speak English with proper grammar, capitalization and punctuation if you expect to get reasonable responses.

this is a forum not an english class. dont really see a point for one to speak proper english and have proper grammar. As long as the members understand the question then thats all that matters, and from what I see is that everyone understood what his goal was.

Sincerly, Your dooD

!Please Keep the Info Coming! :duh:

right have to say so farm i'm pleased with Marinelands new canister filter (C series) the only down side to them i can find is no bloody spray bar. but as i understand it the rena spray bars fit onto them just fine (this is my source for this info). i would also say that if i had not gone with a C-220 for my tank (heavily planted) i would have gone with two 2213s or 2215s.

for HOB i only use one right now (AC 20 on a 4 gal planted betta tank). when i was starting out i had a succession of HOBs. first was a whisper and it was a horrible filter, then a AC and penguin Bio-wheel. i was really please with both filter. the AC really allow flexibility for filter media and is a good HOB filter for a low-mid tech planted tank. the Bio-wheel i also liked but is not suited for planted tank as much as the AC. if i was going to go a fish only rout for my tank i would defiantly get one again.

I think you have a problem with the "Z" and shift keys on your keyboard, you might want to try newegg.com

As for filter prices, try ebay. I just picked up a (questionably) new AC110 for about $60 shipped.

I must apologize...that didn't come out right. Guess I've been spending too much time on car forums and newsgroups which are rife with such language. I should have been a bit more polite.

Anyhow...on topic...

I have Reverse flow undergravel filters (RUGFs) driven by 1-3 Penguin 660r powerheads, depending on tank size. Each tank also has an HOB filter; I use all Whisper HOBs for standardization. I've been quite happy with that setup.

A lot depends on the size of tank, stocking, how much $$ you want to spend, and how much maintenance you are willing to do.

I suggest Petsolutions.com or aquariumguys.com to get an idea on pricing.

Thank You very much!

Please do not use the red! I for one have seizures and the red can set it off.. Please abide by posting rules as Mods have warned you.Thank you

I have HOB's and a couple of HOT's. Of all my filters I like the Aqua Clears the best. I have also found that although made by the same company, Penguins seems to have a better motor/energizer than the Emperor series. For small, I do like the Whisper HOB's and use the next higher size. Anything over 20 gallons I like to go canister or wet/dry. On my 90 I run AC500(110) AND HOT Magnum(250gph). My water is crystal clear and I have no complaints.

I think plenty of suggestions have been made.
