Finally got that salt tank...

If it were me I'd go with reefbrites and panorama ecoexxotics.. maybe 1 white for every 2~3 blue led. around $80 a unit, install like 3~4 of them.. maybe upgrade the fans a la Frys/Radioshack and viola! It'd be about the same cost but you'd never need to replace the light for years to come.

I am not electrically inclined. If feel safer/more confident with something that's idiot proof

it's super simple really, you literally take like 6 or 7 screws out and the whole lighting fixture and be disassembled.. or maybe something you can get your pops to help out on... tell him it'll save on electricity =)
I'm in the process of switching from t5 and metal halide to leds.. it's costing alot but everytime i change my bulbs on my 55 gal, that's like $200+ and that's basically a Kessil a150 15k. You could go topless and just put a kessil on it, of which would work and any other tank you'd own later

If you're talking about upgrading your cube's lights then yes I would suggest the Panorama Pros. You would only need 2 to maintain the corals you have in that size tank and your can add later. These units really don't run hot at all since they are lower wattage LEDs. If you thinking about upgrading your tank size to something in the 40+ gallon range, the T5s will be cheaper or there are more cost effective LED options out there IMO.

Looks fat and healthy. Keep it up!

So the new lights are the 1st step in an upgrade?

Yes they are. Skimmer next, then heater, tank, sand, transfer stock and LR and powe heads as money is saved :)

Im pretty sure he is eating cyclopeeze

Buy the 40B then tell your dad it won't fit in the laundry room. Just don't let on you got it during the $1 per gallon sale.

Do you think you'll use a sump or are you going with HOB equipment?

Maybe a sump down the road but it's not part of this upgrade.
