I clean the sand off of the skeletons at least once a day, more if need be. I'm going to have to rearrange things after my nem relocated and I got this new brain, it's skeleton is very large and now that it's puffed up it is too close to the glass. Seems to have multiple heads/mouths though.
not bad.. store must be dumping the brains since $40 ea is quite cheap, looks like bali witht he green and blue. are you running any carbon, chemipure?
I'm not running anything chemical at all. I don't know how I'd set that up in my system. My lfs has a lot of brains that are full in their expensive tanks. I find mine in the discount row. Sometimes I'm convinced they mislabel things or hide them in there to see who looks really closely.
Here's one i recently got
Day0 -------------------------> Day80
every once in a while you find a diamond in the rough in the discout bin. I had a metallic trachy in my 57gal that i sold to a buddy for $35 of seawater, it morphed in his led tank into an aussie 7 color trachy (retails circa $300~$500) lol oops.
I'd run at least some chemipure. 1 unit should be enough on this tank, the best place i can think of would be in the back-center compartament of the cube. remove the grate and the bioballs, they're not really necessarry. it'd be a good time to vac out the sump area as the next WC. It'll last circa 3 months and help against chemical warfare since it's a small tank, the softies are def gonna fight a little.
