Fish Shed Build Thread!

Also I thought I'd share the new view from our bedroom window.... Maybe later I'll put a matching window in the shed so I can check on my fish from bed.

You have to do this! Late coming into this thread but i'll be checking in!!!

Awesome work- sucks about the leak and your loss! =( RIP fishies! This whole build is very impressive!

Sorry, no updates for a while.

Had a small disaster. The hose nozzle leaked, into my 45 that it was draped over, killing 3 out of 4 of my really nice angels, and making a huge puddle on the floor. That sucked.

I'm pretty broke right now, so there hasn't been much progress, no new fish. But I did set up my trio of N. Multifasciatus in their own 20long. I think I need some dithers in there though, cuz I never see them with all the shells.
Sorry about the disaster. Perhaps installing a simple drain where the puddle formed might be good for future issues and maybe a small conductor alarm inside that drain to let you know of future spills, considering with so many aquariums and the fish shed not always occupied the likelihood is higher then most setups.

I tried to post a reply last night and when I hit post it went to a blank screen and I lost the reply. So, abbreviated....

It's "complete" as in it successfully keeps fish. Far from finished, as there is almost always something to do. There are currently about 20 tanks, approx 350gal total, and 4 more big tanks, another 400 gal waiting for me to build stands.

The insulation is working very well. The little floor heater doesn't come on much even on the coldest nights, and it actually gains heat during cold days thru the skylights. Won't list all the fish right now, but theres nothing spectacular really.

Despite having so many tanks and all the reading I do, I still make bonehead mistakes and kill lots of fish. I guess there's no substitute for years of experience.

I'll try to get some pics up soon.

Lots of kisses and sweet talk my friend... start with the cute fishes, let her pick some that she likes, that will also happen to grow into monsters needing huge tanks, for which you will need to build a fish room to keep "her" fishies happy.

lets see some pictures!

I need to show this to my wife, I can hear the "NO" already but it will be fun to see her look

Show her some of those really little iridescent sharks you see at the pet stores. If that doesn't work she is a cold-blooded monster!
