Yes most people like to use those under tank heaters. I keep my fish room over 74-75 degrees so I only use heaters for fish that enjoy 80 degree temps (and spawners). One word of advice though. Don't trust those unertank heaters without a towel underneath it. I really don't trust them peroid. The larger critter keeps will hold a small 50 watt no problem though.
